ABOUT THE AUTHOR…

Writing and reading have been a passion for Kate since reading first chapter book, “Elizabeth Gail – Mystery at Johnson Farm,” when she was six years old. She’s now a published author of mystery/adventure books for kids and mysteries for grownups. She’s also written Hallmark rom-com screenplays and a feature drama.

After years of lengthy Facebook posts about the antics of her family, Kate was encouraged by friends and family to started a blog. That led to the publishing of her first short story—”Flip Flop”—in the 2014 Hurricane Review, a literary anthology for Pensacola State College.

Kate was represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency from August 2020 until her death November 12, 2023. As of December 14, 2023 she’s represented by Paula Munier of Talcott Notch.

SECRETS, SISTERS, AND SASQUATCH

In the fall of 2021 she signed a three book deal with Reycraft Books to publish the Sasquatch Hunters of Washington, Inc series. Book one “The Sasquatch of Hawthorne Elementary,” released January 2023 and book two “The Sasquatch of Harriman Lake” February 2024.

In March 2022 she signed a three book deal with Level Best Books to publish the Chattertowne Mysteries series. Book one, “Secrets Don’t Sink” released July 2023.

In April 2023 she signed a three book deal with Tule Publishing for the Cruising Sisters Mysteries series. The first book, “Until Depths Do Us Part” is scheduled to release April 30 2024.

She belongs to an amazing group of female writers she met at New York Pitch who inspire, challenge and encourage her. She’s also a member of Pacific Northwest Writers Association, Northwest Screenwriters Guild, Mystery Writers of America, International Screenwriters Association, Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Crime Writers Association (UK), and Sisters in Crime, as well as the Puget Sound Sisters in crime and MWA Northwest.

An alum of the University of Washington—GO DAWGS—An alumnus of the University of Washington, Kate lives in the PNW with her hilarious husband. They have four mostly-grown children. A part-time genetic genealogist, she loves to craft stories with elements of history and family dynamics.
